Financial Aid Requirements

Students who wish to attend West Virginia University, but anticipate a problem meeting the costs of their education, are encouraged to explore the many available avenues of financial aid. Financial aid is money issued to students for the purpose of meeting expenses related to the completion of an educational program.

Financial aid is available in three basic types: gift aid (grants and scholarships), loans, and employment. Grants are primarily based on need; scholarships are primarily based on academic performance and potential. The WVU Financial Aid Office assists students in all stages of the Financial Aid Process. Visit their home page , or contact them directly at FinAid@wvu.edu. They're here to help you!
