Academics

The Wildlife and Fisheries Resources Program at WVU is dedicated to developing the next generation of young fisheries and wildlife professionals.  We recognize the differing needs of our student body.  Individualized programs can be developed through careful selection of electives to meet the career goals of our diverse student body. In addition, to the undergraduate B.S. degree we offer a Master of Science in Wildlife and Fisheries Resources and a Ph.D. degree in Forest Resources.  Advanced degrees typically focus in either wildlife OR fisheries areas.

TRANSFER STUDENTS

Transfer students have historically made up a large component of the students in upper division courses within the Wildlife and Fisheries Program at WVU. We are committed to working closely with transfer students from other institutions to make the transition to study at WVU as seamless as possible. If you transfer into our program you can expect most of your classes to transfer in at some level to WVU. The exact nature of classes you would have remaining to take at WVU will be specific to the individual. However, we have recently initiated Articulation Agreements with some institutions from which we commonly draw transfer students. One such example is an agreement with Hocking College in Nelsonville , Ohio which clearly defines the course work a student from that program would need to complete in order to finish a B.S. degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Resources at WVU.

For more information on transfer possibilities contact the WVU Office of Admissions and Records, or the Wildlife and Fisheries Program Coordinator ( Dr. Kyle Hartman )
